As fate has decreed, the first public performance of MyndCryme was Sunday the 18th of April at the Ultimate Music Challenge, held at Viejas Casino in the Dreamcatcher lounge. This was a blast. Photos are HERE.  The winner of this early trial was a comedy act … go figure. We may get back in as a wildcard but expect to see us playing around San Diego soon.

So now that we’re here, its time to introduce ourselves. We are MyndCryme: our tribute to the heaviest and most progressive metal band in the land, Queensryche.

Based in San Diego, California, MyndCryme delivers a high energy enthusiastic show, and note for note accurate renditions of Queensryche classics. With the average show lasting 90 minutes, MyndCryme plays all of the Queensryche hits and includes many juicy tidbits from Queensryche’s suite of shows that you might not expect to hear at a typical tribute show.

With the look and incredible vocal range of front man Ron Lerma, MyndCryme recreates the feel of being at an actual Queensryche concert.  Ron (Monsters of Rock, Sator Square, Piece of Mind) who is joined by bandmates Gavin O’Hara on Guitar (Monsters of Rock),  Jeff Sheets on Bass and effects (HeadRUSH, Sator Square, Monsters of Rock),  Blackie Sanchez on Drums (Sator Square, Benedictum, R.D.K. and G-13),  and Paul Alexander on Guitar and effects. Most of these musicians have a personal following in the San Diego area as demonstrated in previous bands.

The main goal of MyndCryme is to connect with the audience while playing such hits as Silent Lucidity, Operation Mindcrime, Jet City Woman, Empire, Take Hold of the Flame.
